Tue Jun 14 '11 2:02 pm topic: Beantown Comedy Riot 2011: Open Mike/Amateur Comics Contest, $800.00(Eight Hundred)-1st place prize and a $200.00(Two Hundred)-2nd place prize and a booking at each of the Dick Doherty Comedy Clubs and at GOTHAM COMEDY CLUB NYC.
The Contest will be held Thursday nights beginning JUNE 9th at Dick's Beantown Comedy Vault.
10 comics will compete each week for 4 weeks followed by a semi final. Then two more rounds of 4 more weekly competitions followed by each semi final.
Each week there will be a $50.00(Fifty) and $25.00 (Twenty-Five) prize for 1st and 2nd Place.
The Semi-final prizes will be $75.00, $50.00, & $25.00.
All comics who have performed in at least 1 Open Mike Night at any comedy club and made no more than a $100 average per month for doing comedy for the past 6 months will be eligible for entry.
Entrance fee is $35. Sign up at Dick Doherty Comedy main office 800-401-2221.
Judging will be by 2 industry and media judges and the audience. Voting will be on a scale of 1 to 5 by each judge for each comic. The 2 comics with the highest totals from the 2 judges & Audience votes will win 1st & 2nd place., posted by
