About TheSitchie.com

What does "The Sitchie" mean?
“ Sitchie” is an abbreviated form of the word “situation,” as in what’s your situation? What are you doing tonight? This phrase was the inspiration for a website that helps people to find out what “the sitchie” is at any bar, night club, or lounge in Boston and it’s neighborhoods.

Boston Nightlife as it Happens

How do I find out what’s happening in bars and clubs tonight?
Most nightlife websites only offer information and reviews about clubs, bars, and lounges retrospectively. The Sitchie.com is different. Find out what’s going on and who’s going where WHILE it’s happening. Before you head out for the night or even if you’re in a cab or standing on line somewhere, check The Sitchie.com to get live and up to the minute information on the scene at any particular bar or night club in Boston. The Sitchie.com users post where they are or where they are going. Find out what the crowd is like at your favorite bar. See if there’s a long line at a certain club. Find out where the best band is playing. Don’t wait until the next day to find out what happened. Use the Sitchie.com to see what’s happening now! The Sitchie.com, however, does recognize that people enjoy reviewing comments about a particular bar or club, so if you’d like to offer your thoughts on any nightspot, please visit any neighborhood’s community forum to post remarks about a nightspot in that area.

If you feel a particular bar, nightclub or neighborhood should be listed, please let us know. If we receive enough requests to add a nightspot or neighborhood, we will do so. The Sitchie.com is a community site, and we want the community to speak to us.

What if I think a bar description is inaccurate?
The Sitchie.com’s administrators want the best information available, as well as the most up-to-date. If one of our nightspot descriptions is incorrect, please let us know, and we’ll do our best to verify and then replace that designation.

Why do I need to register?
You may not have to. It is up to the administrator of the site whether you need to register to post messages. However, registration will give you access to additional features not available to guest users such as definable avatar images, private messaging, emailing of fellow users, usergroup subscription, etc. It only takes a few moments to register, so it is recommended you do so.

Why do I get logged off automatically?
If you do not check the Log me in automatically box when you login, the site will only keep you logged in for a preset time. This prevents misuse of your account by anyone else. To stay logged in, check the box during login. This is not recommended if you access the site from a shared computer, e.g. library, internet cafe, university computer lab, etc. If you do not see this checkbox, it means the site administrator has disabled this feature.

Within your User Control Panel, under “Board preferences”, you will find the option Hide your online status. Enable this option with Yes and you will only appear to the administrators and yourself. You will be counted as a hidden user.
